Yin Yoga

200 Hour RYT Yoga Alliance

I walked into my first yoga class about 5 years ago; which, as it turned out, was a rigorous 2 hour Vinyasa flow class. I had thought I was pretty fit, but it was a very humbling experience. "What is this Downward Dog thing? Why are we doing it for an hour? Why does it hurt so much? I'm starting to hate dogs." I continued practicing yoga; first for the challenge, but then the philosophy, traditions and the spirit of yoga captivated me. One of the criteria for moving to Albany was that there had to be a good yoga studio. Kai Yoga Arts was that studio. Practicing with Beverly, Jackie and Valerie; with the different aspects and styles of yoga that they teach, has been so inspiring. The joy and love of yoga they have is very evident in all their teachings. I feel very fortunate to be able to carry on with that tradition, and hope that I can share this with others.
My horses, dogs and cats are kind enough to share their home with my husband Brian and myself. In practicing Karma yoga, I do therapy dog work with Paws Patrol, am a volunteer with Hospice. I also own and operate Smart Dog Stuff in Leesburg.
