Thanks for your comment! From Planner, you can click on any task then select “View Project” from the task sidebar. Our hope for the Planner is that it gives you a space to work across all projects at once, whilst keeping your priorities balanced. Our Canvas View is still your number one place for colourful and visual project planning, and we are always working to improve and develop it.

DropTask is better than other task management offerings due to the canvas view. You need to keep and develop it or you will become just another ‘me too’ product.

The claim that this is a big update is a joke. The #1 thing Android users want updated with the Android app has been in development for over a year, and we keep getting breadcrumbs.

I’ve been putting off jumping into another platform because I like the web interface of Droptask, but my patience has pretty much run out.

Great to hear from you. It sounds like you’ve worked out a very good system, but I can see how an unlimited option for Completed Tasks would help you. Adding more control in terms of Complete Task visibility is a first step for us. We are taking all feedback on board to build a picture of how our users work best and this will help us with future development. Thank you for your answer.
I use Droptask for tracking tasks in projects for very long time (for few years) and I usually store huge amount of technical information in particular tasks, so my Canvas view gets very complex for some projects. Still Categories and Dependencies help me a lot to keep tasks well organized. Very often I need to look for some info stored in older tasks and the Canvas view, which could be very well graphically organized, is the best for that.

I do not use Completed tasks at all, as it is effective for checking completed tasks only few days ago (not few months ago, as I would need). And the second reason why I do not use Completed tasts is that I do not complete the tasks at all to prevent them to disappear. As a task reaches 100%, I put “On hold” button to keep it alive in the Canvas and put there a “Finished” tag, so I can recognize it is finished and possibly use filters to see / not see finished tasks in Canvas.

I believe there are more users like me, who would like to see also every completed task in Canvas. Is it possible to add an “unlimited” option in the “Show Completed Tasks” setting?

The Completed Task View is where you can keep all of your past tasks without any time limit. How would you make use of Completed Tasks that remain on your project “forever”? We feel that a project’s Canvas is a place to review what’s ahead, rather than those tasks that are now behind us, but really interested in hearing your thoughts on this?

When the cover image is expanded on a block-shaped task, the size we show is 400×230. The closer the image is to that ratio, the better.
